I decided to try WFBC because I decided I no longer wanted to have the physique of a refrigerator with legs. I spent over 10 years going to the gym off and on, and for some reason decided the potentially masochistic notion of large former marines yelling at me would be the best idea in order to push myself into getting abs. I googled “boot camp” and WFBC came up. I figured why the hell not.
My first WFBC was fun in the same way getting a root canal is pleasant. It was something I knew I had to do in order to get where I needed to go. After my first class running up and down all those awful stairs I felt like I was going to vomit, collapse and die. I should point out that I didn’t actually die, which is how I’m writing this gorgeous piece of prose and why I go back multiple times per week.
